Does a doula replace my doctor or midwife?
No. A doula does not diagnose, treat, perform clinical tasks, or make medical decisions. Doula and lactation support complement the care you receive from qualified medical professionals.
Does a doula replace my partner?
No. A doula can help partners feel more prepared and involved by suggesting comfort options, sharing practical information, and supporting the way your family wants to work together.
Can doulas support hospital, birth-center, and home births?

What is the difference between birth and postpartum doula support?
Birth doula support focuses on preparation for labor and steady support through labor and birth. Postpartum doula care focuses on personalized in-home support for the family during the first six weeks after birth.

What is included in each service?
Birth doula care includes two prenatal appointments, a tailored birth plan, labor and birth support, labor positions, pain-management techniques, and comfort measures. Postpartum care provides personalized in-home support during the first six weeks. Lactation counseling can address latch, supply concerns, positioning, flange measurement, pain, pumping, weaning, and related concerns.
